Seth Guikema is a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Department of Industrial and Operations Engineering at the University of Michigan. He is also a Professor II in the Department of Safety, Economics, and Planning at the University of Stavanger. He is the Area Editor for Natural Hazards for the journal Risk Analysis and serves on the editorial boards of several other journals in the risk, reliability, and infrastructure field. His research focuses on AI, machine learning, simulation, and agent-based modeling for natural hazards, infrastructure, and emerging systems with a particular focus on dynamic, spatially-explicit risk modeling. He has extensive consulting and industry experience in the defense, intelligence, infrastructure, and catastrophe modeling areas.
